Everything you need to know about concrete lifting, crack repair, coatings, pricing, and the Fix My Concrete process.
We drill small 3/8-inch holes (about the size of a pencil eraser) at strategic locations in the sunken concrete. High-density polyurethane foam is injected through these holes and expands beneath the slab, filling voids and lifting the concrete back to its original position. The foam cures in minutes and you can drive on it in just 15 minutes.
Yes, for most applications. Foam is lighter — it won't overload already-weak soil. It's waterproof, won't wash out, and cures in minutes instead of days. The injection holes are 3/8-inch compared to mudjacking's 2-inch holes. The main trade-off is foam costs slightly more upfront, but lasts 2-5x longer.
We can lift most concrete slabs including driveways, sidewalks, patios, pool decks, stoops, garage floors, and commercial slabs. Concrete that's severely cracked or broken into many small pieces may need replacement instead. We'll always give you an honest assessment — we won't sell you a lift if replacement makes more sense.
Common causes include poorly compacted fill soil during original construction, water erosion washing away soil beneath the slab, tree root decay leaving voids, and drought conditions causing soil to shrink. Colorado's clay-heavy soils and severe freeze-thaw cycles make settlement especially common here.
Lifting addresses the settlement issue, but existing cracks won't disappear. However, lifting stops cracks from getting worse. We can seal cracks after lifting to prevent water intrusion and improve appearance — we often do both in the same visit.
Yes. Once cured, polyurethane foam is inert and non-toxic. It won't leach chemicals into the soil or groundwater. It's also much lighter than traditional mudjacking slurry, meaning less environmental impact from transport.
Most DIY products and rigid fillers can't handle Colorado's extreme temperature swings. As concrete expands in summer heat and contracts in winter cold, rigid materials break their bond and crack again. Our professional-grade flexible sealants are engineered to move with the concrete through these cycles.
Yes — we treat them as the same service. Both unplanned cracks and intentional control or expansion joints are sealed using the same professional-grade flexible sealant and backer rod system. We commonly handle both in a single visit, so you get everything done at once.
Yes, we offer color-matching options for most projects. While the sealant won't be completely invisible, we can get close to your concrete color for a much cleaner appearance than standard gray sealant.
Hairline cracks (less than 1/8 inch) are often cosmetic and may not need immediate repair. However, sealing them early prevents water intrusion that can cause larger problems over time — especially through Colorado winters where water freezes, expands, and widens cracks significantly. We'll give you an honest assessment.
Yes. We can repair cracks in stamped, stained, and decorative concrete. We take extra care to minimize visual impact and can often color-match for better results.
Polyaspartic flake floors are a popular, cost-effective option at $6-12 per square foot, featuring decorative vinyl flakes in a durable base coat — great for garages and basements. VUBA stone coatings are our premium system at roughly double the price, but offer superior UV stability, a 15-25 year lifespan, and a more sophisticated natural stone finish.
Polyaspartic flake coatings typically last 10-15 years with proper care. VUBA stone coatings are rated for 15-25 years. Both dramatically outlast standard epoxy (5-10 years) and concrete paint (1-3 years). Proper surface preparation is the biggest factor in coating longevity.
Yes — VUBA stone coatings are specifically designed for outdoor use and are UV stable, meaning they won't yellow or fade in Colorado's intense sun. They're ideal for pool decks, patios, driveways, and commercial exterior surfaces.
We diamond-grind the surface to open the concrete's pores and ensure maximum adhesion. Any cracks are sealed first. The concrete must be dry and free of previous coatings, sealers, or contaminants. Proper prep is what separates a coating that lasts 20 years from one that peels in two.
Most residential lifting jobs start at $1,500, with larger projects typically ranging from $1,500-$3,500 depending on the size and number of slabs. This is still typically 50-75% less than full concrete replacement. We provide free, no-obligation quotes so you know the exact cost upfront.
Most crack repair jobs range from $150-$800 depending on the length, width, and number of cracks. Expansion joint replacement may cost more. We provide free quotes so you know the exact cost upfront — no surprises.
We offer up to a 5-year written warranty on qualifying projects. Not every project qualifies for a written warranty — we'll be upfront about this during your estimate. Our foam and sealant materials are designed to last well beyond the warranty period when properly installed.
In the vast majority of cases, yes. Repair costs 50-75% less than replacement, takes hours instead of days, and our foam lifting results are permanent — the foam doesn't erode or wash out. Replacement also tears up landscaping, requires extended cure time, and often still sinks if the underlying soil issue isn't fixed.
Most residential concrete lifting jobs are completed in 2-4 hours. Crack repair typically takes 1-3 hours. Coatings require a day for prep and application, then 24 hours cure time before light foot traffic. Commercial projects vary based on scope.
You can drive on lifted concrete in just 15 minutes — that's one of the biggest advantages of foam over mudjacking. There's virtually no downtime for your driveway, parking lot, or sidewalk.
Yes, we work year-round in Colorado. Polyurethane foam cures even in cold temperatures, though we may take extra precautions in extreme conditions. Winter is actually a great time to schedule — our calendar is less full and we can often get to you faster.
We serve all of Northern Colorado including Loveland, Fort Collins, Windsor, Greeley, Berthoud, Timnath, Severance, Wellington, Longmont, and surrounding communities. See our full service area page for details.
For exterior work like driveways and sidewalks, you don't need to be present — just ensure we have access. For interior work like garage floors or basement slabs, someone typically needs to be available. We'll confirm the details when you schedule.
